History of the Practice
Our professional Dental Group actually had its origins in post-war Norfolk in the late 1940s. During World War II, Herbert H. Bonnie served as a Captain in the Army Dental Corps, then returned to Norfolk and opened his practice in 1946.
Today – more than 60 years later – this practice is a state-of-the-art dental group now led by Marshall Bonnie, who joined his father’s practice in 1974.
The Team – Dentists
Marshall Bonnie, D.D.S.
Dr. Marshall Bonnie is a native of Norfolk, Virginia and has operated his dental practice in the Ward’s Corner area of the city for nearly 40 years. He received his D.D.S. from the Medical College of Virginia (now Virginia Commonwealth University) after finishing his undergraduate studies in Economics at the University of Virginia.
Marshall remains active in dental research and education. He serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Old Dominion University School of Dental Hygiene and has an appointment to the Department of Radiation Oncology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Andrew Horowitz, D.D.S.
Dr. Horowitz came to Norfolk in 1980 and joined the practice two years later. He received his undergraduate degree from SUNY (State University of New York) at Stoney Brook with a B.S. in Biology and his D.D.S. from Georgetown Dental School. He is a native of New York City and remains an avid fan of any sports team from New York.
Bonnie & Horowitz has a full team of hygienists, assistants and administrative staff with more than 100 years of combined service to the practice. We’ve treated 3 and 4 generations of families during these years, and value their continued trust. We look forward to you joining those families.
